Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded on merit as measured by a pupil’s results in a competitive entrance examination and irrespective of financial means.
They also reflect other talents whether they be in drama, music or sport.
They may be withdrawn at the discretion of the Headmaster in the event of unsatisfactory work or conduct. The maximum value of a scholarship is 50% of the published fees and the number available and the size of the awards are at the discretion of the Headmaster and Trustees.
Bursaries
Bursaries also take into account academic merit and talents whether they may be in drama, music or sport but they exist mainly to assist those pupils that would gain from attending the school where the fees are beyond their family’s financial resources.
Bursaries are means tested and the number available and the size of the awards are at the discretion of the Headmaster and Trustees.
Post Entry Bursaries
Post Entry Bursaries can be awarded to pupils whose families suffer unexpected financial difficulties and are no longer able to pay the fees in full.
As these bursaries are designed to avoid a pupil’s education from being interrupted so they are held until the family’s financial situation improves, or until the pupil leaves, whichever is the sooner.
