The Old Grammar School is a direct successor to
the Free Grammar School at Southover, Lewes and was was originally founded
in 1512.
A
co-educational day school, the school caters for some 370 boys and girls
from between 4½ and 18 years of age in its Junior Department, Senior Department
and Sixth Form.
Recently
accredited by The Independent Schools Council, the school aims to give
each pupil the best possible education in accordance with his or her individual
abilities and, at the same time, provide a friendly and caring environment.

Located in Lewes, the historic county town of East Sussex.

The Senior Departments and Sixth Form occupy listed buildings in central
Lewes. The Junior School has its own building in a residential part
of the town.

The school draws pupils from a wide
catchment area and operates coach or minibus services from many
of these. Lewes is also well served by road and rail public transport
services.

Fees range from £996 to £1963 per term. Scholarships are available at
11 and 13 and for pupils entering the school in the Sixth Form. For
those pupils who have been at the school for a number of years and who
achieve the requisite grades at GCSE, Sixth Form fees are discounted.
A family discount is given when there is more than one child in the
Junior and/or Senior Departments.

Class sizes are small and do not normally exceed 20 pupils. Generally,
those in the Senior Department are organised into smaller groups.
