On Friday 4th September 2009 the Mayor of Lewes - Councillor Amanda Dean officially opened the new school Sixth Form Center situated in a former courtyard to the rear of Tyne House
Headmaster Robert Blewitt formally welcomed everyone and explained how the construction of this new building is part of an ongoing programme of additions, improvements and alterations that have been and will continue be made to Tyne House, Mead House and St Clair House
This new 6th from study centre features modern environmentally friendly work areas, a new 6th form common room and flexible teaching spaces that will enable and enhance the learning experience of LOGS sixth formers
Other principal guests included Norman Baker MP for Lewes, former Mayor Cllr Michael Chartier, Trustees of the Lewes Old Grammar School Educational Trust and many past and present sixth form students together with current and former staff members
Former 6th formers were taken in groups on a number of tours of the new facilities that have constructed at the school in the past few years
