GCSE & 6th Form PE & Games
As students move into their GCSE years and on to the 6th Form , the emphasis of the programme moves to developing healthy lifestyle choices to aid lifelong participation in physical recreation or sport.
Students choose a particular activity and move onto a new activity after 8+ weeks.
The current programme includes :

Students are encouraged to take on a variety of roles including player, official and coach. This enables them to develop life skills in addition to remaining physically active
In the Sixth Form - students may join Year 11 on their games afternoon or they may use free lessons to work out at the Southdown Gym or play Tennis or Squash on the courts
Many of our Sixth Formers assist the Department in coaching and umpiring teams and supporting students in their P.E. lessons
