All Sport lessons at Morley House are taught by subject specialists. A wide range of activities are offered so that all pupils are able to develop their potential in both team and individual sports.
Younger pupils will develop gross and fine motor skills in combination with a love of being active. These skills are then honed and developed as they progress through the school into more competitive situations.
It is also important to be aware of the other benefits that derive from being an active and healthy child. As pupils walk back from a Rugby lesson or a Netball match they are tired but full of life !
It is a healthy and natural tiredness that results from engaging in meaningful physical activity not the tiredness born of inactivity and monotony.
We believe strongly that the social interaction with peers during sport builds confidence and helps develop humour.
Even more significantly, it fosters an increased self awareness and it forges an appreciation of ones own strengths and weaknesses.
Regular fixtures take place in a wide range of sport for those pupils who are comfortable in such matches. Several clubs take place after school each week to extend and enrich the educational experience of keen and willing pupils.
Over 60% of the pupils within the school take part in these clubs choosing to remain at school until 5.00pm.
