Mrs Whyte
The staff and pupils are so excited about teaching and learning, they are creative and innovative and we really try to make their ideas come to life. Every day is different and that makes my job great fun!
There are definitely two answers to this. The first is that I really enjoy showing visitors around our school and seeing their reaction when they are welcomed by our brilliant teachers and they meet our confident and articulate pupils for the first time. The second is seeing the children perform on stage. During the school year there are class assemblies, plays and concerts and there is no better feeling than seeing the children coming off stage bursting with pride and excitement.
This would definitely involve seeing my three grown up sons, and probably include a swim in the sea!
This is difficult as I have lots but Journey to the River Sea and the Lion Boy trilogy would definitely be on the list.
I grew up in the Channel Islands, so windy weather and rough sea make me really feel at home!
I love how everyone knows each other so well.
Seeing how all the students progress and grow as they move through the school.
This would be a trip to a foreign city with my family, where I would visit some galleries, eat some delicious food and try out speaking a foreign language.

This changes depending on what we are learning about at school. I really enjoy children’s story books and the messages that we can learn. An old favourite would be Jill Murphy’s Peace At Last and a more recent favourite is Nadiya Hussain’s My Monster and Me.
I once sat next to Tom Cruise at the opening night of Buddy Holly Story on Broadway.

Wind in the Willows.

It is an extremely welcoming and friendly school. The children here are polite, confident and full of enthusiasm.
I love that in teaching, no day is ever the same. Working with children is continually rewarding. They can occasionally be crazy but can always be counted on to be inspiring, funny little balls of boundless energy.
My ideal weekend would be full of sunshine and involve water. I love taking the dogs for a walk, cycling along the seafront, sea swimming and kayaking. A perfect day would end with a barbeque on the beach.
I am very good at finishing books but very bad at remembering titles! A book that is close to my heart is The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.
I have worked in orphanages in Vietnam and taught in schools in Mexico City. I love visiting new places and learning about different cultures and traditions.

I love the way that the school adapts learning to the interests and curiosities of each child and has a very strong sense of community.
It has to be the children, in particular their continued ability to surprise, interest and amaze me!
this would be spent outdoors with my fiancé, young son and our sausage dog, Benji, with lots of good food! I’d particularly enjoy a long country or seaside walk, a mountain climb or any sort of water sport.

Every child is different and it is satisfying and rewarding to see the progress in them academically and socially. I love our themed days as they not only educate and raise awareness of important issues but also allow the children to express themselves and prepare them for the future.

I can play the bassoon and every year I play carols on Christmas Day.

The children! Our children are so creative, enthusiastic and caring that they make every day joyful. We are a small school so it feels like one big family.
Designing and inventing new and exciting activities to explore with the children. I love using the children’s science knowledge to solve problems or build machines. I also love the wide variety of special events that we have all throughout the year.
This would be in, on or next to water – perhaps on a beautiful Greek island. I love water sports and nature so might be found snorkelling or fossil hunting before indulging in a picnic feast.
This is a tricky one as I read all the time. I have strong memories of loving Wind in the Willows when I was a child as it combines nature with animal escapades.

This would be spent with my family and there would be beautiful sunshine all weekend. On the Saturday, I would go for an early morning ride through the woods with my daughter Ella on our horses, followed by a game of one-on-one basketball against my son Josh (he nearly always wins!) Saturday night would be finished off with a tasty BBQ – especially if my husband did the cooking! Sunday would be all about relaxing in the garden and taking our dogs for a walk on the Downs…. and there definitely wouldn’t be any housework in my ideal weekend!
One from my childhood. It is a book called My Friend Flicka, written by Mary O’Hara. I used to read it over and over again and dreamt of one day having my very own horse – I feel very fortunate that now I actually do!
