Extra Curricular

At Lewes Old Grammar School we are proud to provide a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These are often delivered by visiting specialists. Students in Years 7 and 8 are offered a range of activities to choose from, which change on a termly basis, on a Friday afternoon every other week.

School Clubs

The PE department strives to offer a wide range of after-school opportunities. We feel that these clubs underpin the excellent teaching that takes place during curriculum time. During the first week of each new term, students need to register a place by signing up to SIMS Pay. All clubs are free to the students, and we hope that they will attend as many as possible. The club will last until the penultimate week of each term: approximately 8-9 weeks.

Clubs start at 4:25pm and finish at 5:25pm, which allows time for students to walk down to the club. During the first couple of weeks, new students will be walked down by the PE staff. Parents will need to arrange after school transport.

Equestrian Club

Lewes Old Grammar School have recently set up an equestrian team for students of all ages to train and compete within the National Schools Equestrian Association leagues.

Alex Osborne from Golden Cross equestrian centre teachers the students on a regular basis. Alex has been teaching and competing for many years and we have built up a good rapport with the equestrian centre. We have recently had a present from a current student, of which thanks go to and we were given a photo shoot with Craig Payne, the photos are attached.
